Light-Sport Aircraft Yahoo group Re: Apollo North American Fatal inflight breakup!

Oh I see.
No its -NOT- our design. We built someone elses kit like users of Zenith kits build a CH601 out of a kit and list themselves as builders on registration. That doesn't mean they designed CH601 or selected kit materials for it. Ours wasn't even a 51% kit. It was complete frame and wing bought and we assembled it with an engine and wiring (say an 80% kit). It was a Part 103 trainer (under Exemption) transitioned to an E-LSA. That's the aircraft you cited and is subjected in that report.
Hope that clarifies it for you once and for all. Not a single trike or airplane of ours has broken up in the air fortunately due to pilot error or otherwise. Of course its just a matter of time before that happens (due to pilot error, not all of us are perfect angels) but I hope we don't get an abnormal frequency of those in-flight break-ups compared to our colleagues and competition in industry. If that happens I hope we will have the smarts and I will be the first to release a grounding recommendation for our aircraft till things are fixed.
Best Regards,
Abid
Apollo Aircraft, inc.

(weight being the key word).
