Re: Light-Sport Aircraft Yahoo group Re: Sport pilot checkride advice

Dave,

First of all, your Sonex SHOULD be done by now!!!   :)

About the check ride.  My examiner told me that he passes a student for the ppl when "he" feels safe flying with them.  He passes his  commercial students when he feels safe enough that he trust them to fly himself AND his immediate family. He passes the ATP student when he trust them enough to let his grand kids fly with them.

Thanks for all of the great advice. I feel a lot better about scheduling my checkride now. I flew my first solo flight in 1971 at the age of 16, but did not complete my flight training. At 57 I am finally finishing what I started 40 years ago.I've done my Sport Pilot training in an Aeronca Champ. I also am 98% finished building my scratchbuilt Sonex.
