Re: Light-Sport Aircraft Yahoo group Ultralight crash in Indiana today
No, it was an N-numbered trike. Dave was a friend and good pilot who really enjoyed flying and sharing flight with people. It seems he had a co-worker with him according to the article and guys on the ground say he was low and coming in for landing, stalled it and crashed badly. Dave wasn't a hot dog and very cautious and I flew with him. He had an Astra trike like mine that was red with a Red Baron paint scheme.
It is a terrible loss. I had met his wife but not the rest of his family.

I grew up with Mark on Long Island, NY. He was a wonderful person from a wonderful family with 2 brothers, one of whom is his twin, ironically named David. He leaves behind a beautiful wife and 2 young daughters and both parents as well as his two brothers. He was a helicopter pilot in the Navy, and retired a little more than a year ago.
ReplyDeleteAll who knew him here are praying for his family and that of his co worker David Johnson.
It's a terrible shame
