HUmmmm!  Good question. I cant see any reason that would keep you from using the service

as long as you don't enter into airspace you don't have an endorsement for just because

you were told by FS to do so, unless of course you are declaring an emergency.

As a Sport Pilot without the endorsement for controlled airspace is it
legal to use flight following?
