The EAA has a good list of all the standard category aircraft that meet the light sport rules.  See:

As I understand, a SP can not do the preventative maintenance on a certified aircraft.

Hi Jim,
Yup probably right ... that's why I guided them to Op Limits for the aircraft.
That's good to know that basic J3 can be flown by a SP. Learned something I didn't know
