What do they charge per hour? It is perfectly legal to charge for the instructors time and for 1/2 the fuel and oil. You can do it in any experimental. I don't know but guess a good instructor is worth what? about $40-$50 per hour. Add gas and oil and charge $60 per hour in the instructors personal experimental machine. Bill is right. It should be OK and I personally know CFI's doing it. But, if they are charging $125-$150 per hour the FAA might have an issue with that.
