Light-Sport Aircraft Yahoo group Re: Rotax "5 year replace all rubber

This is only "required" on SLSA's. The people who own experimental
aircraft are allowed to make their own judgement calls on replacing the
rubber and needed/recommended maintenance.

A good portion of the SLSA fleet is being used for training. For those
who own them, they knew the operating costs would be higher from day one
and should be planning and charging accordingly! These guidelines are in
place for safety. I have replaced a couple of engines and done some
pretty extensive work on SLSA aircraft this year thanks to some people
who thought they knew better than Rotax. Just about ALL aircraft have at
least some specific life limited parts. The manufacturers would all
prefer you replace these items BEFORE they fail and you risk falling out
of the sky.
