I had the privilege of giving her the required instruction and the necessary endorsements so she could solo her own airplane a week ago yesterday. She turned 16 earlier this year. Until now, she hasn't been able to fly in the airplane she built because it hasn't finished phase 1 flight testing, and an instructor is not a necessary crew member. The last plan I heard was that she would make her first US solo in that airplane on September 2, the same day she plans to get her unrestricted motorcycle license.
