It's an insurance thing. I've seen it at at least one other school. Fortunately its not a universal insurance thing.

Hi everyone, thought I would share this some-what interesting info I found out this evening. The Skycatcher, being targeted and promoted as a Light Sport A/C, requires at least a third class medical in order to rent and fly in it - at least at the local flight school. Of course, this is only the flight schools requirements. Maybe it is an insurance thing?? Any thoughts?I might add this flight school is located in Wichita, KS, nonetheless.Michael
