Moreover, there seems to be an inevitable tendency to steer ANY discussion
towards the same pet peeves, no matter what the initial subject of the
thread was. For instance, a couple weeks ago somebody vented his anger
about the relatively high prices of airplanes in comparison to cars. A
lady called Helen was so friendly to provide a link to an interesting
discussion on a message board (forum) and there was hope that people would
discuss new technological developments, new planes, marketing strategies
or whatever to bring the price of airplanes into more reasonable regions.

What happened instead? Something that is forbidden on pretty much any
forum in the world: thread hijacking. After three two-liners, the initial
post and topic were completely ignored and the inevitable "medical exam"
litany kicked in, instead of starting a new thread about medical exams.

Maybe it would be a good idea to at least respect the topic that was
started by sticking to it, instead of digressing into personal mishaps,
the fineprint in a footnote on page 534 of a particular model's user
manual or discussing what might be a certain rule instead of looking up
the information FIRST and then state the facts ONCE? :)

No offense, just some humble two cents to prevent further "desertions".
