A free market is simply a place where a buyer and a seller can meet and come to an agreement on a price for a product. An auction is a perfect example. The final bidder walks away with his purchased item. You may be annoyed that someone bid more, but I'm a bit confused about the comments about personal integrity. The fact that the item sold justifies the price. I'm not sure what's difficult to understand about that. If it didn't sell at $130,000, then one of two things will happen. The price will come down, or the seller will continue to own it. Every person makes decisions like this every day when they ask themselves, "Would I rather have this money in my pocket or would I rather have that "thing" over there?" (Whatever it might be, from a candy bar to a house.) Bottom line.... A $130,000 airplane sells for that because a buyer was willing to pay it. Jim Wish I could see more of the good things but I'm afraid those days have passed... Personal integrety?? only the self gratifying kind still lives,, the rest is image type only.. Anytime one can charge $130 thousand dollars for a 5 to 8 hundred pound nearly home made airplane and justify the price,??,nuff said.. Gentle breezes and strong tailwinds Wes |
