I am about 1/3 of my way thru my Sport pilot training, and I have been looking at planes. I know I may be being a bit hasty... but I hate backing into decisions. I started by looking at what kind of flying I would actually be doing... which turned out to be somewhat regular trips to Dallas ~ 280 miles, trips to a couple of small airports in Ark, and Tn that are less than 150 miles, and just flying around the home airport. I was looking for a plane with 300 mile range, that could carry 500 lbs, at about 100 mph. I have been looking at the Luscombe 8's and like the looks of them... but finding one in good shape, with electrics isnt as easy as I had hoped,,, and its unlikely to be available when I am finally in the market to buy a plane. But I have just discovered the Titan Tornado II... and it looks like it meets or exceeds my requirements... and well its just a very interesting design. So what I am asking is: For those of you who have flown Titan Tornados, What do you think of them? Would you consider taking one on a 300 mile flight? How would they compare to the Flight Designs CTLS (Which is what I am training in)
