Hello Pick a line in the sand... 120 knots is too slow 1320 is too light Why fixed gear A constant speed prop give better performance 4 seats lets me take my kids..... The intent is a relatively simple to fly recreational aircraft for less experienced pilots Faster cruise generally means higher stall and landing speeds longer ground rolls....and more experience Want those? The Sonex goes like stink on 80 HP and is still Light Sport compliant with the Jab 3300 on it. In another life I did training as an AFI with USUA and used the Challenger for a trainer. They are great fun to fly although a bit squirrelly with the doors on. The Challenger is not a fast airplane so they're not so great for cross-country flying, although many have been flown for long distances.
