One limitation of this unit and others is that the aircraft with the transporter is only detected when it is “painted” by radar and replies. Thus, it the aircraft is too low, behind a mountain, or too far from a radar station, it would to be detected by the unit.

I have a unit called "Traffic Watch." It is slightly smaller, width and
height wise, than a cigarette pack and about two inches longer. It is
made in Australia and costs, if my memory serves me correctly, about
