Hi folks,

I went to Airventure and saw several battery powered electric motor aircraft on display and there was talk that these are or can be LSA aircraft.

I thought that the LSA rules said that and LSA compliant aircraft can only have a reciprocating engine (pistion?).

If that is so, is there talk to ammend the rule to allow for electric aircraft?

then, related question, wether or not said aircraft are now LSA compliant, can a sport pilot fly one with sport pilot privelidges if meets all that LSA criteria (except for the reciprocating engine part?).

I might be missing something.
