I posted this over on the Ercoupe forum, but thought it may be of interest to some over here:
Something to be aware of, since the prices of the unaltered C and CD models has
jumped, there are attempts to alter models that have been changed to D, back to
C models. This is done by falsifying the data plates, pulling the 337 for the
change, etc. I have encountered three of these in the past month alone in my
search for a C or CD model. The last one just this week, had made it thru two
owners in the last year without it being discovered that it was a D model since
1979!
The FAA files are easily obtainable, cost very little, and can save you a bunch!
It appears that the choice for adding an 0200 was to convert to a D and then you
can buy an STC, any 0200 equipped Ercoupe should be checked for the proper
