Light-Sport Aircraft Yahoo group Engine choices

Interesting turn of events.
I thought you were an avid supporter of the Geo automotive conversion on
light aircraft.
And I'm surprised to see that you mentioned the continental o-200 instead of
the Rotax as an example of an engine that has greater resale value and
reliability!

I guess it's a matter of what is the right choice at the right time for the
individual buyer/builder.
They ALL have their place in the mix.

FAA resol..

And KR-2 is an amateur-built airplane. The completion rate in those is like
1 out if 10. If you have a Subaru in a KR-2 versus a KR-2 with a o-200 which
one is more likely to sell and which one is more likely to be reliable
engine.

The largest kit seller in the world Vans with the most completion rate
cannot claim more than 25 percent and they highly discourage non-aircraft
engines and conversions and I don't think that's because they don't know
what they are doing
