Light-Sport Aircraft Yahoo group Re: Older planes qualifying for light sp...

It's my understanding that Terrafeuga is applying to treat their plane like a sea-plane - to consider the road-worthy parts of the plane equivalent to floats/boat-bottoms on a sea-plane.

I don't know if the Maverick LSA flying car folks are doing the same, but they'll probably get certified before the Terrafeuga.
