Re: Light-Sport Aircraft Yahoo group Re: I need help

I couldn't agree more. Perhaps it would be better to think about this
problem in terms of boats rather than planes since most people are more
familiar with boats than planes. I am canoeist. I do not in any way
consider myself and "elitist" canoeist however in a two man canoe such
as my Old Town Still Water a 450lb person would at best destabilize the
boat and significantly increase the risk of capsizing it and most likely
also break the seats and sink the boat. As such if a 450lb person came
to me interested in boating I would recommend that he either loose
weight or get involved in power boating with much larger and more
capable craft. Light sport planes are the canoes of the airplane
world. They simply are not designed to be able to carry a person of
that size in a safe manner.

He was trying to get across the point that LSA probably would not work for you and GA would be a better fit. LSA planes are limited to 2 people. You alone are almost 3 people. I would like to be a Hollywood heart throb. Although at 65 years old, slightly overweight, and gray hair I probably would not be able to pull it off. Let's see, I have 2 choices. Continue deluding myself or face reality. I think I'll go with reality. Try it, it's less frustrating.
