All subpart H CFIs have to take our checkrides with the FSDO unlesss
they specifically authorize a DPE in their district for that particular
ride. The first-time pass rate is something like 30%. A friend of mine
who was one of the lucky 30% had his ride drag on for all of two days as
the FSDO dude had him do every maneuver (many are optional) on the PTS
in two different airplanes. Need I say more?
